Djibouti suffers from many vector borne diseases, such as dengue fever and malaria. Many of vector-borne diseases are preventable, through protective measures and environmental control of vectors such as mosquitos and flies. To address the mosquito and fly needs, GX has implemented a health education programme about prevention and use of mosquito lamps in 8 community-level clinics in Djibouti, across the north, south and central regions of the country. GX collaborated with health centres in Djibouti City, Arta Region, Dikhil Region and Obock Region, to provide health education and donate solar-powered mosquito lamps to eliminate the numbers of vectors in clinics causing disease and discomfort to the patients and health workers.
